One year old university is seeking $600,000 to finance the construction of a new building and labs. Return on investment is estimate at a minimum of 15% past the first year. This university will be involved in new medical field research and education which will provide profits in excess of the 15% tuition fees.
There is a growing thread by the very large growing young population of Loja to follow the footsteps of their parents which have a university degree; in fact 65% of the population of the city of Loja has a 4 year university degree. Unfortunately many have to seek their university education elsewhere since there are not enough universities in Loja, and the ones that are do not provide enough diversity for fill the need of all the available students; therefore a group of four ex-university professors with 20+ years experience each including two whom have served as deans have gotten together to form a new university to fill the gap. 

The new university “Instituto Superior Tecnológico Empresarial Bolivariano” has been approved by the government to provide 2, 3 and 5 year university degrees in 5 new fields throughout Ecuador.  The main goal is to provide hands-on education vs. only theory; this providing new students with real world jobs. The university seeks to provide an education that can be put to use locally vs. contributing to the 3 million plus that have already left Ecuador to seek work elsewhere.  What will make a huge difference about this university vs. others is the practical hands-on approach to teaching set as a prime goal by its founders. The main goal is to teach practical useful information vs. just theories.  It seeks to provide a tool that is going to be used as part of the curriculum, for example the hands on creation of several small companies which the students will own stocks upon graduation. Gastronomy is our favorite… It has long been know that one of the down point of living in Ecuador is the lack of variety of cuisine… this is going to be a hands-on teaching from day one all done in local restaurants. 

At the present time Loja has 5,000 new high-school graduates each year, this combined with the previous years students and in the case of this university we must also add professional who also seek additional education.  Also note that the university is licensed to open campus and to provide remote education throughout Ecuador, the city of Loja is just the beginning.

INITIAL CAREER SUBJECTS are: Marketing and Publicity, Small business creation, Gastronomy, Tax accounting, Ecological tourism in addition it will provide a full course in biology. Each of these careers are in high demand by students of all ages, for example ecological tourism and creation of small businesses are in demand by government employees not just by high-school graduates.
